ANIB XI beat Moaza Saif by 79 runs in the final to lift Legends Cricket League title in Ajman.
Twelve teams competed in the first season of Legends Cricket League. The tournament was held under the patronage of Ajman Cricket Council.
In the final, ANIB XI put on 224 for 4 after electing to bat first. Prashanth Braggs played a brilliant innings of 96 runs off just 48 balls and remained not out.
Imran also hit 69 off 44 balls to lift the score to 224. Hassan from Moaza Saif was the most successful bowler with the figures of 3 for 23.
In reply, Moaza Saif started their innings confidently but failed to keep the momentum and they were bundled out for 145 runs in 16.5 overs.
Shehzad Malik (49), Waqas (26) were the main contributors with the bat. Sulthan got 3 for 33, C.T.K. Mashood also grabbed 3 for 28. Prashanth Braggs was declared man-of-the-match.
Shehzad Malik who led Moaza Saif to the finals by scoring 184 runs and taking six catches was named man-of-the-series. The best batsman award went to M. Hussain of GHI who scored 248 runs. Faizal of GHI was declared the best bowler for his 12-wicket haul.
Organiser Anil Kumar said: "Though we have organised other major cricket tournaments in the past, but this was a special one. Every team had one legend in their playing eleven - aged above 40. Success of this tournament has once again kept the spirit of cricket high and we hope to come back with more tournaments like this for the UAE cricket enthusiasts!"
