I am appalled at the media frenzy around this late entry of the last dynast of the Gandhi family (Indian politics looks more gracious with Priyanka's entry; KT, Jan 25). It is an irony that the columnist chose to give her opinion on Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's looks and dress without raising a question on the credentials of this dynast whose entry into the Indian politics is a last resort to save her family and husband from a possible jail term for political corruption. The electorate of the country is not reeling under the jadedness of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as opined by the columnist. And this brother-sister combo, who do not have major accomplishments to boast about or any experience in public service, cannot bring the change India needs. India needs leaders with a vision to solve the enormous problems faced by the common man who is fighting for his daily existence and not products of entitlement who hanker for political power to save their family.
