Video: Traffic comes to a grinding halt as ducks cross busy highway

Traffic across all three lanes halted to let the ducks pass by.

In a bizarre incident, a group of ducks crossing the road brought a busy highway to a grinding halt.
In a video shared by the Aukland transport department on Twitter, vehicles can be seen halting to let a mamma duck along with her ducklings cross the road near Tristram Avenue.
The New Zealand Police then rescued the ducks to safety, the tweet said. 
"It is heartwarming to see the traffic across three lanes stop for the ducks to pass by and reach the other side safely," one Twitter user responded.
The gesture led to more social media users applauding the efforts of the motorists and the police.
