Four Asian drug traffickers were nabbed and 91kg of narcotic pills - Captagon - was seized from them by the Dubai Police during a swift operation. The drugs were packed in three bags and kept at different places.
A team of the anti-narcotic department carried out an ambush and arrested the drug peddlers- belonging to the same nationality, said Major General Khalil Ibrahim al-Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief for criminal investigation affairs at the Dubai Police.
He added that the four smugglers were caught from a residential area of Dubai, late at night while they were taking drugs. They hid a large amount of narcotic pills in bags. The kingpin of the gang lives abroad.
The drugs were recovered from different places from the four traffickers. They were referred to the legal authorities concerned after confessing that they used to sneak in drugs from their home country as per orders of the mastermind.
Al Mansoori praised the key role played by the anti-drug team of the Dubai Police - who make huge effort to combat drugs locally and internationally - and arrest the guilty traders and promoters.
