Yet another dystopian future franchise where the fate of humanity rests in the hands of a few acne riddled, angsty teenagers with guns. The Hunger Games, Divergent and now another one of these, okay we're not at Marvel comic epidemic level yet, but if there's a case for Hollywood's lack of originality, The Scorch Trials would be Exhibit A on the evidence table .
So I didn't see the first one, nor have I read any of the books, but as far as I can tell in The Maze Runner a group of kids escaped from a maze. Now, guess what? Yep, they have to do it again. Although this time it's a bit hot once they get outside.
Aside from some solid performances, this one is not for me (what is?), but I'm sure it will be very popular this evening and for the rest of the week.
IMDb gives this 7.2 and Rotten Tomatoes gives it 62%
