SHARJAH - The final of the Girls 16 singles saw third seed Rikeetha Perriera establishing her continued dominance in the Hotel Holiday International Sharjah Open Junior Tennis Championship.
In the final, Rikeetha got the better of Victoric Holjevac 7-6, 6-2. In the second set Rikeetha built up a 5-1 lead. Victoria then held serve to make it 2-5. Rikeetha then served out the next game at 40-30 to win the set and match.
In the boys 16 semi-finals Dhruv Bahl upset topseed Puneet Varrier 1-6, 7-6, 6-4. He will now take on Adham Gabr who outclassed Joshua D’silva 6-0, 6-0 in the other semi-final. In the boys 18 Singles Shaun Keegan outplayed Shubham Gupta 6-0, 6-2 to move into the semi-finals.
The girls 14 singles saw Husseina Netterwala oust Rhea D’souza 6-2,6-3, Emelia Shwarts down Namarta Dutta 6-0,6-4. and Ambika Arora outpace Divya Gulawani 6-0,6-2
The Boys 11 event witnessed top seed Amir Rakhmov blank Kunal Mahesh 6-0, 6-0, Sidarth Ragunath get the better of Vinay Rao 6-2, 6-2 and Linus Shwarts blank Jason John 6-0, 6-1. Bharat Amritraj defeated Ibrahim Khalid 6-2, 6-3 in the Boys 12 section.
Also here, Evci Haktem whitewashed Rohit Ghosh 6-0, 6-0.
In the Boys 14 Singles Anirudh Kamath beat Andrei Ermakov 6-4, 7-6, Dhruv Bahl beat Shashata Battage 6-0, 6-0. and Aswath Amritraj downed Rayan Meeran 6-2, 6-1.
Marietta Papazyan defeated Anuka Sethi 6-0, 6-1 and Zeba Amina beat Diana Onla 6-3, 6-0 in Girls 12 play.
