Give calls to loved ones, make people smile, and don't spread misinformation

Top Stories

The opinion article Covid19 pandemic: media mustn't add to the panic-demic (KT, March 16)' rightly mentioned that panic has become a global phenomenon. I too have often shared several messages to advise my friends and family through WhatsApp.
If there is one thing that is available now, it is time. Time to call up a loved one, ask about how they're faring, share a couple of stories, make them laugh and smile. It is time for reflection, for getting back in touch, for reading a book, or playing an indoor game of Ludo with kids. The only thing I miss is an easier way to do video calling and speak with my friends and family across the world. If the authorities could give us Skype for personal use for this period, it would be a tremendous help.
