The Chinese economy has been getting hammered by one event after the other. First it was the Great Recession of the last decade that slowed its economic engines, and then trade war with the United States the past few years has severely impacted its output.
And now this mysterious coronavirus attack is likely to have an adverse impact on its society and economy at large. Like before, a slowdown in China will impact the rest of the world too.
Wuhan, the motor city of China, is at the centre of this outbreak. Automobile factories in Wuhan would be affected and eventually the supply of motor parts all over the world. When China sneezes, the world catches a cold. We might just experience it again.
