Jessica March, a cancer survivor, said it was a "very emotional occasion" for her when her husband walked 20 hours to support her during a previous 24-hour Relay For Life (RFL) event.

"My husband heard about the RFL event through his friends and persuaded me to participate along with him. The activities at RFL bring people from all backgrounds together and make patients feel like they are part of a circle of friends who will always be there to help them through their fight with cancer."

Nahla, another cancer survivor, called the walkathon an "inspiring event". In 2017, she had "walked alongside many brave patients who supported each other through the 24-hour event". This year, she will be taking part "with a big group of 20 friends".
