Sponsored by the National Marine Dredging Company for third year in a row, the annual tournament is open all UAE nationals and resident amateurs, including ladies, holding a valid UAE handicap.
“The tournament has always been received well by the golfing enthusiasts — and we are again expecting a full field to line up for honours,” said Saeed Albudoor, general manager of the Emirates Golf Federation.
“Each year the tournament has this festive feel to it with UAE nationals and expatriates from different nationalities signing up in big numbers — and that fun-filled atmosphere has made it one of the most popular events on the domestic circuit,” he added.
The entries to the tournament are open and interested players may sign up as individuals or as teams of two or four. The individuals will be placed into teams by the organisers.
The competition will be a Team Betterball Stableford with two best scores to count. Last year the four-man team consisting of Brian Mullen, Kevin Jamieson, Roy Wilson and Norman Knowles emerged victories with an impressive score of 110 points.
Ahmad Al Jabir, Chief Support Officer of National Marine Dredging Company, said his company was delighted to be a part of the prestigious event. “It has become one of the most popular tournaments on the domestic circuit and we will to do our best to keep supporting it.”
Adel Zarouni, secretary-general of the Emirates Golf Federation, lauded the support of the National Marine Dredging Company, saying without their backing it wouldn’t have been possible to organise an event of this scale and stature.
