A public officer stood trial at the Fujairah Criminal Court for allegedly disclosing some 'confidential company information'. When the company - a semi-government entity - found out that an internal human resource regulation was purportedly shared with others, it filed a case against one of its employees. The defendant, however, denied the charges and told the court that the HR bylaw of the company was not 'top secret'. "Sharing this piece of information can never be harmful at all to my institution," he said, adding that he didn't have any bad intentions against the firm. He also asked the court to look into the HR policy of his company and check whether or not he did violate any rules. The court, presided over by Chief Judge Ahmad Al Danhani, adjourned the case until July 2. ahmedshaaban@khaleejtimes.com
