The suspect agreed to sell his motorcycle to the deceased for Dh10,000, which the latter did not have in full.
Dubai — A financial dispute between two “good friends” led to the murder of one by the other in Dubai recently. According to a police source, an Emirati was stabbed to death by his compatriot friend after a bloody fight in the Al Muraqqabat area on Sunday. The suspect in the case also sustained minor stab wounds in the incident, believed to have been inflicted by the deceased before his death.
The police were informed about the murder by the suspect’s brother, who witnessed the incident. Prima facie investigations have revealed that the suspect agreed to sell his motorcycle to the deceased for Dh10,000, which the latter did not have in full. When the suspect reportedly confronted the deceased to pay the amount in full, a fight ensued. The suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased in a fit of anger, according to the former’s brother. The deceased stabbed the suspect before collapsing.
The brother called the police and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries he sustained.
The deceased was armed with the murder weapon, which the suspect grabbed before stabbing the former in the chest, according to the suspect’s brother.
The police said that another brother of the suspect had earlier died in prison due to drug overdose. The case will be referred to the public prosecution for further investigation, the police said. -amira@khaleejtimes.com
