Father of a 15-year-old Arab girl, who repeatedly left her home, refused to take her back after the police found her following a missing complaint lodged by her family.
According to the complaint, the girl went missing from her home. However, police patrols managed to find the girl later. When the police returned her home, her father told the police that she has left home many times and that he could not "bear responsibility of such an arrogant teenager". The police referred the girl to the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, said Lieutenant Kareema Al Khayyat from the Victim Care Department of Al Qusais Police Station.
In another incident, Al Qusais Police received a complaint from the parents of an Arab girl who had gone missing. Her parents told the police that they asked all her friends about her whereabouts, but nobody had any idea.
During investigation, the police found that the girl had travelled out of the country. The girl returned after some time and the police found that she visited many Arab and foreign countries. The police found that she was using drugs and referred her to the public prosecution.
Major Abdulla Rashid Al Hafeet, acting Director of Al Qusais Police Station, said the department received 16 complaints about boys aged 14 to 16 years who went missing.
The police are helping families in finding the boys, he added.
