This is perhaps the best piece of news rock and metal heads in the UAE and the region would have heard in years!
One of the biggest progressive rock bands on the planet, the legendary Dream Theater are coming to town to present their high decibel, progressive brand of music in Dubai on October 6 at The Dome, Dubai Sports City.
Featuring a dream line-up of the who's who of the prog rock scene - guitarist John Petrucci, bassist John Myung, singer James LaBrie, keyboardist Jordan Rudess, and drummer Mike Mangini, Dream Theater are known for their unparalleled live sets and technical proficiency.
"It is truly a dream come true for rock music lovers from the region who cannot afford to travel elsewehere to attend a Dream Theater concert. I would say it's history in the making for Dubai's rock scene - for being included as a stopover for the legendary band's prestigious 25th anniversary world tour. It can't get better than this," concert organiser Ryan Noronha told City Times. The show is being hosted by Mainstage Events and Musolicious.
The band - who have been Grammy nominated twice for progressive metal band - is currently on the final leg of their Images and Words & Beyond 25th Anniversary Tour after globetrotting through US, Europe and Asia. Dream Theater has for long yearned to break into this region.
Now local fans will get to experience the pioneering band's multifarious mix of rock maestros performing their hard-hitting tunes from the album.
Fans can expect to sing along with James, play air guitar to Petrucci's guitar chops, geek in with Jordan's keyboard lines, see how Myung plays his 'insane' bass lines, or perhaps air drum to Manginis skin slamming!
The concert will be spread out over two hours. Fans can expect to witness a high level of technical proficiency that will demand musical mood swings from head banging to fist pumping to singing along to relishing in a highly charged atmosphere.
For music fans, this could perhaps be one of the most anticipated rock show.
Pre sale tickets will be available on www.platinumlist.net soon.
