the businessman, and cut his body into small pieces to fit it in a suitcase, and buried it in Ajman’s old industrial area.

The accused confessed to the police that he convinced the victim, who had a workshop, to visit his house in Ajman to take measurements of windows and doors which needed repair. While the victim was in the room taking measurements of the windows, the accused hit him with a log of wood, killing him instantly.

The police said that the accused, to hide the evidence of the crime, cut the victim’s corpse into pieces to fit it in the suitcase which he could carry in the street normally. In his confession, the accused said he had buried the pieces in an open area in the old industrial area, with the help of three other Bangladeshi nationals who also assisted him in the crime. H. A. reportedly demanded the brother of the victim to pay Dh15,000 for information on the victim’s whereabouts.

Speaking to ‘Khaleej Times’, Major Abdullah Saif, Deputy Director of the Investigation Section of the Ajman Police said that on August 8, the Al Ahamadiya Police Station received a ‘missing’ complaint filed by the victim’s brother. The brother later called the police and informed them that a stranger answered the victim’s mobile phone and asked for Dh15,000 in cash, for information on his missing brother. The police made him call the accused again to be able to trace the location of the phone. When the brother called the accused, he told him that his brother met with an accident in Dubai and was arrested by the police for traffic violation. He further said he would get him released and solve the problem if he was paid Dh15,000.

After the Ajman Police confirmed that the accident allegation in Dubai was false, two teams from the investigation section were formed to investigate the case and arrest the criminal. The accused was arrested by the police yesterday after the location of the mobile phone was tracked. The accused confessed to his crime and showed the police the place where he buried the body of the victim and also admitted that three other Bangladeshis were involved in the crime. The case has been referred to the court, while an investigation and search is on to arrest other accused.
