EXHIBITION OF PLASTIC ARTS
Shaikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi said, yesterday, events like the Fujairah International Monodrama Festival enhanced the concept of communication through art. He was inaugurating an exhibition of plastic arts as part of the monodrama festival.
More than 70 tableaux prepared by UAE artists, members of the UAE Plastic Arts Society, are on display at the exhibition.
Mohamed Saeed Al Dakhani, the Festival Director, awarded Shaikh Maktoum Al Sharqi with the Decoration of the Festival, besides the Decoration of the Arts Society made by plastic artist Mohamed Ibrahim Der.
On the fifth day of the festival, Khorfakkan troupes staged their plays, mainly based on an old tale, which, however, gave rise to widespread criticism later, for bearing no connection with monodrama.
