DUBAI — During DSF, Jacky's total sales increased by over 170 per cent in the City Centre outlet alone from a regular month's sales in 2004. "The new interiors and unique product mix ensured that all customers had a positive retail experience at Jacky's this DSF.
This had a direct impact on sales, which is why we saw the mall outlets perform extremely well," according to Ashish Panjabi, chief operating officer of Jacky's Electronics.
Panjabi said, “In the mall outlets, digital and IT devices were in high demand such as MP3 players, digital cameras, mobile phones, laptops, PDA's, plasma TV's and other high-end products. One of the key trends this year was the increased demand for people wanting entertainment and lifestyle products.’’
Moreover, the gap between IT and electronics has been reducing and most of the traditional IT products which were designed for techies are now mainstream entertainment products with the addition of simple things like Bluetooth and digital card readers in laptops or an MP3 player integrated into a PDA.
Jacky's 'Shop for Free' promotion also proved to be popular with Dubai residents and tourists alike, with shoppers receiving a Dh250 gift voucher to spend on diamond jewellery at Alukkas for every Dh250 spent at Jacky's.
