ABU DHABI — A consortium of Al Jaber Energy Services (AJES) and Technip Abu Dhabi has won an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract amounting to $62 million to create new gas receiving facilities and associated pipelines for Dolphin Energy Ltd.
Al Jaber Energy Services, a subsidiary of Al Jabr Group will undertake all project construction including the multi discipline activities associated with the facility and the 48 inch diameter export pipeline and to manage the procurement of construction materials related to the project.
AJES will utilise some of Al Jaber Group resources which include over 6000 pieces of plant and equipment, over 20,000 personnel, in house resources for heavy lifting, transportation, tunneling and all temporary facilities to ensure the timely completion of this fast track project. The facilities will be built adjacent to the existing Taweelah Power Station in Abu Dhabi.
The plant will initially comprise three parallel gas receiving trains and associated equipment, metering facilities, control buildings and warehouses.
Additionally, there will be interconnecting pipelines to the Taweelah Power Stations and to the existing Maqta-Jebel Ali Pipeline.
A key aspect to the project will be the interfacing with other Dolphin Contractors bringing the sub-sea pipeline into the Taweelah Facility as well as the handling of critical activities such as the large bore hot tap into the existing GASCO pipeline.
Al Jaber Energy Services, as a member of the Al Jaber Group, is a leading Middle East based multi discipline EPC contractor which has completed numerous projects including the Fujairah to Al Ain Water Transmission Pipeline.
