DUBAI - Dubai Police is on the lookout for two suspects who raped an Indian woman in Dubai and escaped.
On Wednesday at 12 midnight, the operation room of the Dubai Police was informed by a woman living in Damascus street in Dubai that she had been raped. The 37-year-old Indian woman explained that after her two female colleagues left for work, she was alone in her apartment.
“Around 9.30pm the door bell rang. I opened the door, and was stunned when two tall, well built Asians who were at the door, pushed me inside and got in. I tried to scream and resist, but they covered my mouth and took away my mobile. They threatened to kill me if I resisted,” the woman who works for a fishing company said.
She said the men then pushed her on the bed. According to the woman, the two suspects had been targeting her and had kept an eye on the flat. They waited for her colleagues to leave before they could barge into the house.
The men returned the phone and offered the woman Dh100 while they were leaving.
It is worth mentioning here that Abu Dhabi Police have arrested an Asian cook who allegedly tried to rape nine housewives in two months at knifepoint and robbed their houses.
Police officials have urged thepublic, especially housewives, to be very careful when dealing with strangers, and to report to the police if they find suspicious looking strangers roaming around residential areas.
