Watch Out for Kylie Minogue’s
Concert This Weekend

From shopping sprees to business luncheons, weekend movies to a two-mile walkathon, shopping malls in the UAE are more than just the combat ground for the biggest, smallest and the not-so-well-known brands.

The trendy structures, which are springing up all over the country, were previously marketed as a hub for the younger crowd.

But now they offer world class all-around entertainment for the entire family.With the recent opening of the mammoth Dubai Mall, other shopping malls have gone on an overdrive to attract greater footfalls.

Beginning today, Khaleej Times will feature a weekly column that would highlight all that is happening — from sales promotions to entertainment — at the malls across the country.

Pop sensation Kylie Minogue’s concert at the Dubai Festival Center tops the list of attractions this weekend, with mystical magic show by ‘Mist’ at the Mall of the Emirates coming in second. Deira City Center will be launching the winter/autumn collection as the biggest bag of goodies for shopaholics.

Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue will be performing at the Dubai Festival Center. Tickets cost Dh195 and above.

Sam Willis, a street performer from New Zealand, will present a combination of jokes and tricks for the entire family over the weekend.

Mystical stage show by the group ‘Mist’ will include individually themed and choreographed numbers that would give visitors a true touch of theatre. The show will include a number of mind-boggling illusion pieces by the performers.

London Street and hip-hop dance troupe, Zoo Nation, who performed at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics 2008, will be performing at the mall premises. Visitors can watch the 15-minute performance free of cost.

Date: November 6-December 6 
Deira City Centre’s ‘Make Room for More Fashion’ promotion is giving away three weekly draws of Dh25,000 each and a grand draw of CityGift vouchers totalling Dh75,000. The 28-page catalogue will showcase the latest in Autumn/Winter styles available at more than 40 participating fashion outlets.

Date: November 20-December 2 
Shoppers spending Dh200 at any store at Dubai Outlet Mall go into draws to win up to Dh3 million in cash. An added bonus is that from December 1, the mall will be giving a sweet Eid gift to all customers spending Dh400 or more.
