Under water rescue training for police

ABU DHABI — The Emergency and Public Safety Department at the General Headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Police is organising a four-week special rescue training for its personnel.

The training includes logistical support to rescue teams on land and cutting and welding work while under water.

Lt. Col. Mohammed Khamis Al Abdoly, Acting Head of Marine Police Section at Emergency and Public Safety Department, said the trainees will be equipped with modern techniques to cope with long periods of diving and handle rescue operations under water.

First Lt. Rashid Ahmed Al Hhawari, Director of Marine Police Training Branch, said that the experts from Egyptian International Academy for Diving Technology, headed by Captain Muhsin Al Juhari has assisted the trainees to stay under water for 6 hours. He praised the spirit and response of the trainees.
