ABU DHABI - Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE armed forces said here on Tuesday that the UAE would continue to modernise its armed forces until highest levels in terms of combative preparedness, training and acquisition of modern technology are achieved.
In statement to Wam during the graduation ceremony of the 4th batch of the Navy College, Shaikh Khalifa said, "We will move forward with our policy of modernising our armed forces. This policy will continue until the highest levels in terms of combative preparedness, training, organisation and acquisition of modern technology are achieved".
Shaikh Khalifa underlined the importance of the current policy of the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces, saying that this policy will bring about a qualitative leap in many respects. It is a policy that takes into consideration the rapid global changes in communications and information technology, he said.
