Training to deal with vehicles carrying hazardous materials

ABU DHABI — The Al Ain Emergency and Safety Section of Emergency and Public Safety Department at the Abu Dhabi Police has launched a staff training programme for handling vehicles carrying hazardous materials.

The aim of the programme is to train Technical Rescue and Rapid Reaction staff to attain the required skills to drive, control and deal with vehicles carrying hazardous materials during serious accidents.

Major Ibrahim Mohammad Al Aamri, Head of Emergency and Safety Section at Al Ain, said that the programme included 18 officers and NCOs divided into different groups. The instructors are Germans who are experts in public safety and civil defence.

Each group will receive one- week intensive training on how to deal with emergencies and vehicles carrying dangerous materials.
