DUBAI — Dubai Men's College (DMC) yesterday honoured distinguished students, support sponsors and media for their contributions towards the success of the institution, which moved into its new state-of-the-art campus at Academic City last year.
DMC's Director Bill Vega presented certificates to 35 students in recognition of their academic achievements, or for their special performance in special events, or active participation in organising some of DMC events.
A special “Man of the Year award” was presented this year to Mohamed Ali Ibrahim, a DMC student who will graduate this year.
The DMC director, in the presence of Dr Tayeb Kamali, Director of Abu Dhabi Men's College and several prominent members of the local community, also honoured officials of Dubai Municipality in recognition of the efforts in the construction of the new college building, the Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Electricity and water Authority among others. A number of support sponsors, including Al Habthoor Group and Damas, were also honoured for contributing Dh1 million for scholarship to DMC students.
Bill Vega presented certificates to members of the English and Arabic media including reporters from Khaleej Times, Gulf Today, Al Khaleej, Al Itihad among others.
