ABU DHABI — The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) that will provide a special grant to support students of visual and performing arts.
According to Hoda Al Khamis-Kanoo, founder of ADMAF, the programme will include monthly events for students, that will be held mostly in Abu Dhabi, such as exchange programmes, building infrastructure and art exhibitions.
“Students will have an exposure to various forms of art and culture that will enhance their appreciation of it while they will also have the opportunity to create and exhibit their own works,” Kanoo told Khaleej Times.
She added that ADMAF will offer an annual creativity award worth Dh25,000 to students of either HCT or Zayed University.
For the men’s college, the projects will include German language classes provided by the Goethe Institute here, various workshops in Germany and the UK, writing and photography competitions and purchase of media equipment.
Students in the women’s college will be offered a trip to a design conference in Australia, participation in art exhibitions as well as visits and workshops conducted by international experts such as graphic designer Tarek Atrissi and documentary filmmaker Salem Brahimi.
