Moscow gave its consent during a meeting held yesterday between the visiting Federal National Council (FNC) delegation, headed by Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, FNC speaker, and a delegation from the Russian Foreign Ministry led by First Deputy Foreign Minister Andre Dnisov, at the ministry.

Dnisov said Iran has to maintain good relations with its neighbours, especially the UAE which is committed to seeking a peaceful solution for the problem of the three islands.

He said that Russia would work hard to convince Iran to accept the UAE’s suggestion.

Dnisov hailed the UAE-Russian relations and said that a number of agreements were expected to be signed by the two countries in different fields. Al Ghurair expressed the hope that the relations between the two countries would grow further.
