Tarek bin Khadim, Head of the Administrative, Financial and Compensation Affairs at the SDTPS, said they would compensate everyone affected by the implementation of the road project.

"All those whose shops and buildings get affected will get compensation, which will take into account the building and land rent in addition to the worth of interior decorations. We will compensate the shops as per the annual rent of the shop. Even if the rent duration is less than a year, it will be treated as one full year," Tarek bin Khadim said.

He said an Evaluation Committee comprising representatives of SDTPS, Technical Section of Sharjah Municipality and Directorate of Public Works, would be in charge of the evaluation process.

"We will also consult private parties to evaluate interior decorations in the affected shops while working out the compensation package under the supervision of the Evaluation Committee," he said.
