In response to that, global safety innovators 3M are hosting seminars for local officials in Abu Dhabi and Dubai to highlight the latest range of their pioneering products. Cutting-edge traffic safety products will be displayed at the event, including 3M’s newest solution for traffic safety signs — the Cubic Diamond Grade Reflective Sheeting, along with application tools.

One seminar was held yesterday at the Al Maha Rotana Suites in Abu Dhabi and another will be held today at the J.W. Marriot Hotel in Dubai where a specialist, Gernot Sauter, Head of Photometric Laboratory at 3M Germany, is the keynote speaker.

Sauter presented delegates with case studies of successful implementation of traffic safety solutions from other parts of the world. He has introduced 3M’s upgraded Prismatic High Intensity Sheeting and Cubic Diamond Grade Reflective Sheeting. When applied to road signs, the improved products increase reflectivity and improve driving visibility during the day and night.

Sauter commented: “3M’s global development centres have been working overtime to produce new road safety innovations which could help save lives lost each year through reckless driving. Our solutions use the latest in wide angle retro reflective sheeting technology to provide a high level of reflective performance, making road signs appear bright and legible at any hour of the day.”

Participants at the Abu Dhabi seminar included road consultants, high-profile engineers from the Agricultural and Municipality Department, and traffic sign manufacturers, while Dubai’s event will host visitors from the Dubai Municipality, the Sharjah Directorate of Town Planning, and road safety engineers.
