Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed for early completion of western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project (CPEC).
He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday to review progress on infrastructure projects. He said land acquisition process should be started forthwith for the western route for which the funds have already been allocated in the annual development plan.
The prime minister directed for close coordination of the federal government with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan governments for fast tracking the land acquisition process.
He said the government has made unprecedented investment in infrastructure projects in Balochistan. It is for the first time that 100 per cent of PSDP funds have been released by the federal government to Balochistan.
The prime minister emphasised for speedy development of the infrastructure projects along with strict adherence to all the applicable procurement guidelines.
Sharif said that the speedy implementation of the projects shall not compromise on the transparency standards. He said that the projects must be completed within stipulated time.
