ABU DHABI — The Ministry of Health owes a whopping Dh100 million to various pharmaceutical companies in the country, which has resulted in these companies suspending supplies to hospitals and healthcare centres in the Northern Emirates.
Subsequently, the region is facing a shortage of medicines. A ministry source toldKhaleej Times, that the main problem was the budgetory allocation to the ministry, which had remained stagnant at Dh180m for the past 7 years, against a requirement of Dh200m annually.
