FUJAIRAH — The Fujairah Court has sentenced Mohammed Abdalla, a UAE national, to three months in jail for assaulting a doctor working in Fujairah Hospital.
The UAE national took his wife who was suffering from pain to the hospital. Since his wife, an Egyptian, did not have a health card, the accused used his sister’s health card. After examination and various tests, the doctor decided to admit her, and asked for details of the patient.
Abdalla confessed to the doctor that he was using his sister’s health card since he did not want to pay for the treatment. He also asked the doctor to go ahead with the treatment, which the doctor refused. Enraged by this, Abdalla assaulted the doctor.
The hospital management, meanwhile, called the police and Abdalla was arrested, and subsequently produced before the Court.
