DUBAI - Architect Donald Bates of Lab Architecture Studio in London will deliver a lecture on ‘After Geometry-Federation square and Public space’ at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) on February 16.

The lecture is organised by the Department of Architecture of the School of Architecture and Design at AUS. Donald Bates has been a guest lecturer and visiting professor, and workshop coordinator at 75 universities and schools of architecture throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.

Together with Peter Davidson, he formed Lab Architecture Studio in London in 1994, beginning work on a number of speculative competition entries. In 1997, Lab Architecture Studio won the international design competition for Federation Square, Melbourne, the largest urban, civic and cultural project of recent years in Australia. Federation Square opened to the public in October 2002.
