DUBAI — Stress and work-related tension are among the several causes leading to infertility, opine herbal medicine experts.
“Many healthy couples in the UAE face this problem because of work-related tensions and stress. A healthy couple can become incompatible if faced with a stressful lifestyle. Mental and physical relaxation is necessary to live a happily married life and bear children,” says Dubai-based Hakeem M. Karam Nawaz Sabri.
He says herbs have, for centuries, successfully been used to treat a variety of ailments. “The remarkable power of the ancient system of natural health has spread worldwide making Chinese and Indian herbal methods popular worldwide,” he explains. “I discovered that the Asian kitchen could easily provide treatment for the problem.”
According to Dr M. Ahmed, who, too, practises herbal medicine, “No two people have the same infertility problem. Herbal treatment courses are designed to cater to several individual requirements. The root cause of all sexual disorders lies in ignorance, bad habits and improper lifestyles,” he says.
The Indian system of treatment involves Ayurveda, the 6,000-year-old therapy for all kinds of maladies, including infertility.
Dr Ahmed says Ayurvedic treatment is free of toxins and any side-effects. It is a combination of soft medicine, proper food and a healthy lifestyle, he said, adding that a treatment called Uttaravasti has proved to be an effective treatment for infertility caused by tubular blockade in women.
An expert in Chinese medicine, Dr S. Mustafa, explains that treatment of women is easier than men.
She says that several women in the UAE, due to the high levels of stress, suffered from hormonal changes and menstrual problems that were the root case of infertility.
