The distribution of coupons started last Thursday, and will continue for two months.

Each coupon holder will receive 80kg of rice, 50kg of sugar, 100kg of wheat flour, six 5-litre oil containers, four 2.5kg milk containers, four 900-gramme tea packs and one box of Vimto, said Mohammed Haji Al Khoori, executive director of the foundation.

The nationals and expatriates desirous of availing themselves of the facility need to approach the foundation with their passport photocopies, family book (for national), labour card and salary slip. Those earning below Dh10,000 a month and those registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs are eligible, Khoori clarified.

The food items can be collected from the designated supermarkets, including the Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society, Emirates Cooperative Society, Ras Al Khaimah Cooperative Society, Delma Cooperative Society and Bani Yas Cooperative Society.

The foundation had, till Monday, distributed 2,291 coupons among nationals at various designated centres across the country.

The foundation has installed 75 Ramadan tents across the country for people to join Iftar during Ramadan.
