With the Dubai 30X30 fitness challenge putting the fun back into fitness, communities in the emirate are motivating and even incentivising residents and visitors to take up the challenge by introducing discounts, vouchers after they complete the 30-minute activity.
Beachfront destination Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) has joined forces with the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) and is offering public the chance to 'Walk the Walk', where one can either join solo or get involved with the whole family, and either walk or run JBR's 1.5km strip for 30 minutes. The community has also roped in retail outlets that are offering discounts and vouchers as a reward afterward.
Making the most of its buzzing beachfront location, its family-friendly vibe and its extensive range of retail options, JBR has created a number of challenges and fun activities that will encourage a healthier and more active lifestyle.
The community has also introduced a sweat-inducing workout called the 'Stepathon' challenge, where the only equipment the public has is the outdoor stairs to get in some cardio and muscle exercise. All they have to do is go up and down the JBR steps for 30 minutes for an uplifting physical workout. Both activations - Walk the Walk and Stepathon - are running from 12pm to 9pm daily until November 16, with participants encouraged to register their workout at the Dubai Fitness Challenge pole located in Sadaf. JBR's fitness fans are rewarded for their workouts with a range of discounts as well as vouchers for 3D Blacklight Minigolf Dubai, one of the world's largest fully immersive minigolf experiences.
Aman S, a JBR resident, feels new energy in the neighbourhood since the launch of the fitness challenge. "These free fitness activities along the breathtaking views of JBR are such a great way to relax and forget worries. I have managed to make a number of new friends through my activities around the area and also lost some weight. It makes a huge difference when we celebrate fitness and health with the whole community. Thanks to the government and to the JBR management for making fun and fitness activities easily accessible to all and help us meet our 30X30 fitness goals."
Ayman Abdelrhman, co-founder and managing partner at TEPfactor Dubai, said: "We're thrilled to be part of the DFC and have already seen a great number of people as part of the DFC. Taking on TEPfactor Dubai is about challenging yourself mentally and physically and trying a new experience. We believe that physical activity, in any form, is not only great for the body but also the mind. We are committed to ensuring that Dubai residents have the healthiest future ahead."
