Dubai World’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory arm yesterday announced the Build Safe Dubai members charter which commits signatories to implement activities to improve safety at workplace in the construction industry.

Ahmed Abdul Hussain, CEO of EHS emphasized the important role that contractors play in the enhancement of safety measures and standards at the workplace.

“Awareness of construction safety is not only helpful to all the parties in the construction industry, but is also valuable to the community,” he said.

“I am confident that through concerted efforts, the safety regulations will be dramatically improved in the future,” Hussain noted.

The signatories to this members’ charter believe that the initiatives can make a major contribution to lifting the standard of safety within the industry and reduce the pain and suffering of workers and the economic and social cost of workplace injury and illness.
