Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael, the skilled martial arts-trained turtles made famous in their self-titled cartoon television show for fighting crime on the streets of New York, will be descending upon Al Ain during this year's edition of Abu Dhabi Summer Season, the emirate-wide month long programme of family fun and activations taking place from July 20 to August 20.
Organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), in partnership with leading event companies MBC Group, Alchemy Project, YAK Events and Oberoi Middle East Event, Abu Dhabi Summer Season brings to Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain Region and Al Dhafra Region, a series of family-centred stage shows and performances, themed mall activations, and shopping promotions.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Green and Extreme activation is set to light up Al Ain's Bawadi Mall, bringing a fun-filled showcase of adventure-filled games and competitions for children to enjoy.
Having originated in comic books, the ninjitsu-trained turtles garnered popularity from the late 1980s to early 1990s as the cast of a television animated crime-fighting series for children. This time, the action heroes are presenting a set of interactive games, live shows and workshops, with the mall's youngest visitors being challenged to navigate an obstacle course that features tyres and barrels in Turtles Tyre Race. Children can also explore their creativity in the Balloon Power workshop, which invites them to make their own versions of their favourite Ninja Turtle.
Engaging activities will take place from 5.00pm - 10.00pm, while the shelled action heroes will take to the stage from 5.00pm - 5.30pm for the first show, 7.30pm - 8.00pm and 9.30pm - 10.00pm for the second and third shows respectively. The entire activation will run from 9-12 August.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Green and Extreme joins an exciting line up of children's shows for residents and visitors to the emirate, presented as part of Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2017.
