It's interesting to see how much can change in a span of 10 years -- that's what the #10YearChallenge is all about. The social media challenge had quite a few famous participants, including Dubai royal Sheikha Maitha bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the daughter of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Nusret Gokce AKA Salt Bae. Joining the party is the most famous building in the world - the Burj Khalifa.

In a recent Instagram post, the world's tallest building shared a photo which showed not only the Burj Khalifa, but parts of Downtown from both 2009 and from 2019.
What's worth noting here is how much the landscape has changed. In the 2009 photo, one can still see multiple patches of sand and construction going on almost everywhere - even on the Burj itself. That year was when construction on the Burj Khalifa was completed, in October 2009. If you look closely, you can even catch a glimpse of what looks like construction work at the very top!
Ten years later, and the Burj is now the shining beacon in the country. Tourists flock here all through the year, and the rest of Downtown Dubai has become the place to be.
To commemorate the 10 years, the Burj Khalifa gave a big shoutout and salute to their employees who helped turn the Burj from vision to reality. The photo's caption said:
"We wouldn't be here without the contributions of every single one of our employees. This is what 10 years of their hard work looks like. @downtowndubai 2009-2019"
