1,900 embraced Islam in Dubai

DUBAI — One thousand nine hundred persons from 25 countries have embraced Islam since the start of 2010, according to the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department.

Out of these, 397 persons voluntarily came to the department during the Holy Month of Ramadan and declared their willingness to embrace Islam,
Dr Hamad bin Al Sheikh Al Shebani, director-general of the department said.

Training and initiation programmes, lectures and Arabic language courses are made available at some mosques in Dubai for the new Muslims and their families, Shebani said, adding that they also receive facilitations from some shopping malls. —
