13 contracts awarded for civic projects

ABU DHABI – Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) has lined up a number of projects for immediate implementation. Contracts for 13 projects concerning various civic services have been awarded to private construction companies, which are expected to start work soon.

According to Fary Hassan Al Mazroue, director of public gardens, ADM, the projects provide for maintenance and operation of a number of fountains and the construction of two electronic game centres for children besides a library among other things.

Al Mazroue added that 57 fountains in Abu Dhabi had been earmarked daily, weekly, and annual maintenance schedules. Other projects in the offing included three new water pumping stations in Shahama, Rahba and Bahia. The municipality was also supervising the implementation of beautification work on fountains and gardens in various parts of Abu Dhabi.
