Landmark Group will be organising its eighth edition of the Beat Diabetes Walk in the UAE, with registrations now open online. Taking place at Zabeel Park in Dubai on November 18, the walk will span approximately 3km, following which participants can check their sugar levels at free blood glucose testing kiosks. The venue will also offer several complimentary fun-filled activities, such as Zumba and yoga fitness sessions, as well as spot dance routines. Got kids? Not to worry; they can be entertained at a dedicated sports zone, featuring football and basketball games as well as inflatable slides.
Registrations are open till November 12. For more info, visit www.beatdiabetes.me.

A brand new season at Global Village
In case you missed it, the 21st edition of the region's popular multicultural festival park, Global Village, has just begun - and that means about five months of shows, concerts and surprises lie ahead. Celebrating the theme 'A New World Everyday', guests can look forward to a variety of cultural programmes, stunts and street shows, and unique shopping and culinary experiences. Over 50 internationally recruited performers will present international award-winning shows, while a host of stars - from Mika Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Atif Aslam and Emirati superstar Abdullah Bil Khair - have already been confirmed to entertain families every Friday.
Tickets are priced at Dh15 per person. Visit www.globalvillage.ae for more information.

Spot an entrepreneur in your child?
Dubai tends to see bootcamps aplenty over the summer hols, but here's one with a twist, even though it's not vacation season: a business camp for nine to 14-year-olds! If your child has an inner entrepreneur waiting to make his/her mark in the world, the Think Like An Entrepreneur bootcamp, hosted by Growing Leaders Foundation, will be held on November 5 and 12, from 10am to 2pm, at Impact Hub Dubai, Souk Al Bahar. Among other things, the camp aims to show kids how to understand if their ideas can pass an innovation or strategy test, how to access a leadership toolkit so they can change habits and become experts at anything they choose, and how to gain the confidence they need to present their personal brand or business idea to anyone.
Registration fee: Dh1,000, with 10 per cent off for siblings. For more info, call 04-3754444.
