Indian national Anjesh Thomas, 38, has been living in the UAE for six years in Sharjah's Al Muwaileh area.
The computer engineer said he had passed a Salik gate last week, and when he opened his account to check his balance, he found that he still had Dh10 left in his account. Thomas says he hasn't charged his Salik account since August 19, 2014.
According to Arabic daily Al Bayan, Thomas bought the Salik tag the same day he bought his car, and the balance in his Salik account was Dh50 back then.
Thomas has so far driven 83,000km in his car, commuting between Sharjah and Dubai for work, and has rarely passed a Salik gate in five years, unless he's lost or simply cannot avoid it.
