New Medical Centre (NMC) routed Dubai Hurricane by a ten-wicket margin to emerge champions in the Al Faraa Corporate T20 League cricket tournament organized by Durham-UAE at the Al Ain Sportplex ground.
The tournament was held under the auspices of the Al Ain Cricket Council.
NMC, who have been consistent throughout the tournament, stamped their authority when they bundled out Dubai Hurricane for a paltry 107 in 17 overs. Off-spinner Nisar Ahmed was the wrecker-in-chief with a three-wicket haul for 25 runs in his four overs.
Safadr Ali (24) and Imtiyaz Khan (29) tried their best to revive the Hurricane innings without much support for their teammates. Safadr hit a six and four boundaries in his 25-ball knock while Imtiyaz lofted two sixes and couple of boundaries.
In reply, NMC openers Fayaz Ahmed and Indika Sampat played some lusty shots to power NMAC to 108 for no loss in just 9 overs.
Indika seemed to be in a hurry to finish off things as his unbeaten 55 came off just 32 balls containing three sixes and seven boundaries. Fyaz remained unbeaten on 28 off 20 deliveries made with the help of four boundaries.
Nisar was later picked the man-of-the-final for his three wickets.
Brief scores (final): NMC beat Dubai Huricane by 10 wickets. Dubai Hurricane 107 all out in 17 overs (Safdar Ali 24, Imtiyaz Khan 29; Nisar Ahmed 3/25) vs NMC 108 for no loss in 9 overs (Indika Sampa 55 not out, Fayaz Ahmed 28 not out). Man-of-the-match: Nisar Ahmed.
