The UAE has strongly condemned and denounced the targeting of vital civilian facilities and infrastructure in Port Sudan and Kassala, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the UAE's firm position calling for an immediate ceasefire, the protection of civilians and civilian facilities and infrastructure, and a peaceful solution to the conflict.

The ministry called on all parties — who continue to ignore the immense suffering endured by the Sudanese people — to respect their obligations under international humanitarian law, in accordance with the Jeddah Declaration, and the mechanisms of the Allied to Promote Life-Saving and Peace in Sudan (ALPS) platform.

It also reiterated the UAE's unwavering commitment to supporting efforts aimed at addressing this catastrophic humanitarian crisis, and to working side by side with regional and international partners to restore stability and peace to the brotherly Sudanese people.
