UK's Heathrow Airport is open and fully operational on Saturday, authorities confirmed. However, passengers must contact their airlines before heading to the airport, according to a statement on X.

The airport was shut on Friday until midnight after a fire at an electrical substation caused a power outage.
Huge orange flames and plumes of black smoke were seen shooting into the sky. Around 150 people were evacuated from nearby buildings and thousands of properties were without power.
According to flight tracking website FlightRadar24, at least 120 inbound flights to Heathrow were having to divert to other airports in the early morning.
Several airlines, including UAE carriers Emirates and Etihad, announced the cancellation of flights to the UK airport on March 21. Emirates has since then announced the resumption of flights on Saturday.
Heathrow Airport is the primary and largest international airport serving London, the capital and most populous city of England and the UK.
It was the world's second-busiest international airport in 2024 behind Dubai, according to travel data firm OAG.
