50th UAE National Day celebrations: Photo gallery in Dubai captures country’s rich history

A photo gallery set up in Dubai is commemorating the UAE’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

The Nikon Photo Gallery at the Grand Mercure Airport Hotel in Garhoud, Dubai, features the best hand-picked images captured by selected Nikon photographers across various emirates.

The images highlight the rich culture, historic landmarks, infrastructure, native wildlife, traditional sporting activities, architectural wonders and memorable moments of the UAE’s past.

More than 50 shortlisted images from various Nikon photographers are on display at the gallery, which is freely accessible to Covid-vaccinated visitors.

Suha Abu Abu Issa, retail director of Grand Stores, said: “Today, as the nation celebrates 50 years of success, Grand Stores along with Nikon, marks its respect and gratitude by congratulating the great leaders and visionaries of this beautiful land. As we can see, every single photograph displayed here has a soul and story of its own, gracefully depicting the rich diversity and dynamism of this country.”

The gallery will be open for public viewing until February 28, 2022.

A series of free interactive Nikon workshops and photo competitions will also be arranged by Grand Stores at the hotel over the next three months.

Prizes, including staycations, are up for grabs at the event.
