The Ras Al Khaimah Police have arrested an Arab national, who is allegedly one of the biggest drug dealers in the country.
Col Adnan Ali Al Zaabi, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the RAK Police, said they were tipped off about the suspect who always used nick names to cover his real identity. "The drug dealer used to meet his customers in an indirect way, covering his face and identity to mislead the anti-narcotics teams."
Having insufficient information about the suspect was the biggest challenge for the police in arresting him, he added.
"However, the anti-narcotics men's expertise helped them track down the suspect and arrest him."
A search team was formed to track down the suspect who was finally apprehended while hiding in a rest house in the emirate. A large amount of drugs were also found with the suspect, and some other narcotics and cold weapons were recovered, Col Al Zaabi explained.
The suspect has been referred to the RAK Public Prosecution.
