Amid reports of passengers grabbing their hand luggage while evacuating burning Russian plane as other passengers waited to flee, a terrifying video has emerged showing passengers running to safety holding bags and coats.
The Aeroflot Sukhoi jet had 73 passengers and five crew members on board when it exploded into a fireball at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport after making an emergency landing. The plane crash killed 41 passengers, including two children and one crew member.
The evacuation footage shows desperate passengers sliding down the inflatable slides and running across the tarmac to safety as the thick black smoke billows from the plane. While another footage, filmed by a passenger inside the plane, captures the panic inside the burning plane as passengers screamed and fled the plane.

The airport said in a statement that the plane SSJ100, also known as the Superjet, had taken off from Sheremetyevo Airport for the northern city of Murmansk. However, soon after take-off the plane turned back for unspecified technical reasons and made a hard landing that started the fire, reported Metro.co.uk
Investigative Committee spokeswoman, Svetlana
Petrenko, said, "Investigators soon will begin interviewing victims, eyewitnesses, airport staff and the airline carrier, as well as other persons responsible for the operation of the aircraft."

The Sukhoi jet is largely used in Russia as a replacement for outdated Soviet-era aircraft, as well as by airlines in other countries, including Armenia and Mexico. The tragedy on Sunday is the second fatal accident involving the plane. In 2012, all 45 people aboard a demonstration flight in Indonesia were killed after the plane struck a mountain.
