UAE strongly condemns deadly school shooting in Canada

A shooter killed nine people and injured dozens more at a secondary school and residence, before the suspect took their own life

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the shooting incident at a school in western Canada, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.

A shooter killed nine people and injured dozens more at a secondary school and residence in a remote part of western Canada on Tuesday, before the suspect took own life.

The killings occurred in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, a picturesque mountain valley town in the foothills of the Rockies.

A total of 27 people were wounded, including two with serious injuries and 25 who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFa) reiterated the UAE’s strong condemnation of such criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability.

The authority expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of Canada, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
