Turkey sends two planes to Egypt for its nationals

ANKARA — Turkey said on Sunday it was sending two planes to Egypt to fly home its nationals, the Anatolia news agency reported.

“In coordination with the foreign ministry and Turkish Airlines, we are going to repatriate around 750 Turkish citizens from Cairo and Alexandria,” Mehmet Ersoy, director of the prime minister’s crisis cell, said in a statement quoted by the agency.

Two Turkish Airlines planes were due to take off during the morning to fly to Alexandria’s Borg El Arab and El Nozha airports, Ersoy said.

At least 102 people have been killed in six days of angry revolt against the the regime of Hosni Mubarak, demanding the veteran president’s departure.
